Pantri Pesda
Pantri Pesda was founded at the time of the pandemic. Manon started a food bank. This was to assist low-income families or anyone who'd lost wages. It began at Neuadd Ogwen by the Dyffryn Gwyrdd. It was decided to continue with the project but move to Canolfan Cefnfaes. Pantri Pesda is now located at 57 Bethesda High Street.
Pantri Pesda aims to assist low-income families or anyone suffering from living costs. They give a box of food monthly.
Pantri Pesda is also intended to help reduce food waste. They collect food from supermarkets. They are also part of the Fairshare scheme.
They share the food on Tuesdays at 7 o'clock PM and Sundays at 5.30 PM.
Now they are also sharing food on Fridays between 2 PM and 3 PM. On Fridays, fresh food is mainly available. Fruit and vegetables will be available.
Pantri Pesda will be collecting recipes to see how much of the fruit and vegetables you can keep from waste, e.g. there was a glut of rocket lettuces availabe last week to make pesto.
Pantri Pesda is a project ran by Partneriaeth Ogwen.
