Social gardening at Y Plot
Y Plot on Pandy Farm (Tregarth) is a place to come together, or to find peace. In this little garden plot, Blodeuwedd Botanics are offering outdoor and gardening activities for anyone who fancies.
Being outside has a positive impact. Our activities are based around the 5 ways of well-being: connect, take notice, keep learning, give, be active; to enhance individuals’ well-being. Since summer 2019, Y Plot has been open for 1 day a week to offer Tea, Cake and Company gardening sessions, open to anyone. This is every Thursday 11-3, and you can come for as long or as short as you want, and take part in light gardening activities, or just sit and watch and enjoy a cup of tea and a piece of cake.
Through our activities we are creating a productive and beautiful (and organic) garden but also a social and therapeutic space. If you sometimes feel lonely or low, or have other things on your mind, this is a perfect space for you. But anyone can come to recharge their batteries or take a break from a busy life.
Plants and cut flowers
Part of our activities is to grow herbs, vegetable plants and flowers to sell. In this way we are contributing to more sustainable buying habits in the valley. Come and see how seeds germinate into seedlings, and seedlings grow into plants, or be part of the selling team.
We also grow flowers to be cut, and people can come and cut a bunch of fresh local flowers to give to their loved ones. Get in touch to know when you can come.
Courses and events
Blodeuwedd Botanics are running courses and holding events about growing your own vegetables and herbs, edible flowers, and growing and eating seasonally. We also have occasional garden parties to highlight the best of the seasons, and sometimes we get creative.
Events and courses take place either directly on Y Plot, or in the Pentwrff on Pandy Farm. We want to encourage people to have a go at growing their own plants, even if it’s only a small pot on the kitchen window sill, and to take pleasure in their growth and development. Or to just be outside and enjoy the birdsong!

You will find us on Pandy Farm on the edge of Tregarth, between Pandy Motors and Moelyci. You can access Y Plot either from the driveway past the garage and the sawmill, or following the grey signposts along a track on your left after you’ve passed through Tregarth, passed the church, and just before Tyn Lôn, the next cluster of houses.
